Specified disease

Health insurance delays coverage for specific pre-existing conditions (pancreatitis, cataracts, etc.) for a set time (1-4 years) to prevent unfair claims costs. This “waiting period” ensures you weren’t already sick before buying the policy.

List of specific diseases/procedures:

  1. Pancreatitis and stones in biliary and urinary system
  2. Cataract, glaucoma and retinal detachment
  3. Hyperplasia of prostate, hydrocele and spermatocele
  4. Prolapse uterus or cervix, endometriosis, Fibroids, Polycystic ovarian disease (PCOD), hysterectomy (unless necessitated by Malignancy)
  5. Hemorrhoids, fissure, fistula or abscess of anal and rectal region
  6. Hernia of any site or type
  7. Osteoarthritis, joint replacement, osteoporosis, systemic connective tissue disorders, inflammatory polyarthropathies, Rheumatoid
  8. Varicose veins of lower extremities
  9. All internal or external benign neoplasms/ tumours, cyst, sinus, polyps, nodules, mass or lump
  10. Ulcer, erosion or varices of gastro intestinal tract
  11. Surgical treatment for diseases of middle ear and mastoid (including otitis media, cholesteatoma, perforation of tympanic membrane), Tonsils and adenoids, nasal septum and nasal sinuses
